INDIA’S New Religion: HINDUTVA And Its Aspects

Hindutva And Its Aspects

According to the United Nations, India’s current population is more than one billion PLUS. The more important and worrying news for Pakistanis is that a new religion “Hindutva” is spreading rapidly in India.

This religion is the creation of staunch, extremist, and nationalist religious and political leaders from Hinduism. The characteristic of this new religion based on the violent ideas of fascism and Nazism is to be hostile to Muslims and minorities. It is a low-educated and illiterate idol.

INDIA'S New Religion: HINDUTVA And Its Aspects

It is becoming popular among devotees who consider Indian Muslims under the influence of extremist propaganda to be responsible for their economic and social problems and sufferings.

Indian Muslims in Fear

In the areas where the followers of this new religion, i.e., Hindutva, are the majority, a Muslim cannot comfortably walk in the street or the bazaar in Islamic dress. Indian Muslims have now started living in special neighbourhoods to protect their lives, property, and honour from Hindu attacks.

Unfortunately, due to the bias of the Government institutions in most of these areas, even the necessities of life are not available to Muslims. There may be between 40 and 50 crores of Hindutva adherents, while the precise figure is unknown.

Africans: The First Inhabitants of India

Hindu nationalism has its origins in India, according to the movement’s leaders. However, in 2018, a prominent American DNA expert and professor at Harvard University, David Reich, together with “Ninety-two” experts in history, anthropology, genetics, and archeology from around the world, conducted a study “South and Central”.

These experts compared the DNA of ancient and modern humans living in the continent of Asia. The aim was to know who the ancestors of the people of India were. The research revealed that the first inhabitants of India were Africans whose descendants founded the earliest human settlements in India. These Africans arrived sixty to one hundred thousand years ago.

The Arrival of the Iranians

The data mentioned above suggests that people from Iran’s Zagros area who lived 10,000 years ago went to India. To be clear, scholars think that this region is where agriculture and animal husbandry began 12,000 years ago.

Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian, and Turkish borders converge today. This area includes Turkey’s Anatolia, the Zagros (Iran), and the Tigris and Euphrates Valleys (Syria and Iraq).

Monotheists and Idolaters

The Middle East was the center of the monotheism. So it can be said that the Zagros, Iran, were the monotheists. Through their efforts, the descendants of Africans also became monotheists. One proof is that the Vedas, the oldest religious book of India, contains the concept of one God. Additional Vedic gods and goddesses are also mentioned.

Although it’s probable that some Brahmins followed a single deity, the majority of them followed a variety of deities. Also, the majority of Dravidians were idols. They became devotees, but their gods were different from the gods of Brahmanism.

The Caste System

Three principal deities were revered by Brahmins: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Gradually this Trimurti came to an end and the worship of Brahma became less and less.

The religious authorities also separated their society into four classes. Priests from the Brahmin caste, followed by Kshatriya soldiers, Vaishya shopkeepers, and Shudra workers with less training. Shudras and untouchables did not have any rights in the society.

The members of the upper castes would rather torture them. A Brahmin would not face punishment, for instance, if he killed a Shudra or an untouchable. Even if an untouchable touched a Brahmin, he would be brutally tortured.

Reaction against Brahmanism

Brahminism was stronger in North and West India. Over time, Brahmins also began attempting to impose their religion and manner of life on East, Central, and South India. They also achieved some success. Taxes were heaped on the subjects.

The money obtained in this way would be spent on their luxurious life. It is as if Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and Vaishyas became the elite class or aristocracy and began to fulfill their interests by exploiting the lower castes and started getting benefits.

While the Shudras and the Untouchable’s lives became tragic pictures of poverty and helplessness. The new religion, Jainism, first arose in northern India against the tyranny of Brahminism. When it could not do much harm to the Brahmins, Buddhism in eastern India came out.INDIA'S New Religion: HINDUTVA And Its Aspects

He fought well against Brahminism. Not only did he stop its spread, but the majority of the people in North India also became Buddhists. The descendants of Brahmin priests kept it alive. After 500 AD. Descendants of the Brahmins re-established their kingdoms in North India.

Afghan Invasion

The kings of these Indian states believed in different deities. The deity whom the king made the main deity of the state, the people also started worshiping him. Gradually, Vishnu and Shiva became the main deities in North India. Some kings were followers of Goddess Shakti.

In eastern and southern India, no particular deity could gain central status. The followers of Shiva and Vishnu fought with each other to expand their cults. In the 9th century AD, the kings who followed Vishnu occupied the territories of Afghanistan.

Thus, a fight broke out between the Indians and the Afghans. Later, the Afghans not only made it a routine to attack India, but they became the rulers of vast Indian territories. They were deprived of power by the Afghans of Mughal origin.

Most of the Muslim rulers of India showed tolerance and tolerance and did not force any idol worshiper to become a Muslim. Of course, millions of idol worshipers became Muslims due to the preaching of Muslim Sophia. Due to the educated nature of the Muslim rulers, Brahmins were also included in the system of government.

British Brahmin Nexus

After Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor, the Muslim rulers in India began to decline due to mutual differences and insensitivity. The lack of unity and unity always pushes a nation down. Foreigners took advantage of the mutual differences between Muslims.

First, the Marathas and Sikhs occupied the Muslim areas and then the British became the rulers of India based on their skills, wealth, and modern weapons. The British also needed local people to manage the government. They had taken away the government from the Muslims, so they would trust them less. Therefore, Brahmins filled the government machinery.

Especially in northern and southern India and in Calcutta, the headquarters of the British, the influence of the Brahmins increased greatly. In this regard, they had the support of the British.

They became the backers of the Brahmins to humiliate the Muslims. The British and Brahmins recreated the antiquated religion of Brahmanism under the same policy and gave it a new name, “Hinduism.” Initially, the followers of Shaivism, Vaishnavism, and Shaktism entered this new religion.

Then the leaders of Hinduism tried to start to make other idolaters of India especially Shudras and Dalits also become a part of this religion. Then they could gain power in India by proving their superiority. The British and Brahmins recreated the antiquated religion of Brahmanism under the same policy and gave it a new name “Hinduism.”

In this situation, the Brahmin Vikhshatriyas started to think of such a recipe, thanks to which they could spread this new religion throughout India by including the idolaters of the lower castes in Hinduism. He finally got this recipe in 1809.

Under this policy, after 1850, a dispute was raised in Ayodhya that Babri Masjid was the birthplace of Rama, an avatar of Vishnu.

Brahmins started demanding that official documents should be in Persian or Urdu instead. Then the campaign against slaughtered cows was launched. Also, the campaign to convert Muslims into Hindus (Shudhi) was started.

The followers of Hinduism began to pass in front of the mosques shouting provocative slogans in religious ceremonies. The gods (Vishnu and Shiva) wanted to be discussed throughout India.

Founder of Hindutva

Hinduism was formed in large part thanks to Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Dayananda Saraswati, and Swami Vivekananda. The number of Brahmins was very few. The staunch anti-Muslim Brahmins were in the majority, hence the Hindu-Muslim dissension continued to grow.

Interestingly, all three Brahmin leaders were convinced of the supreme existence of one God. However, their adherents rejected this viewpoint and transformed Hinduism into an idolatrous practice. Among the three, Dayananda Saraswati was the most extreme in the sense that he targeted Islam and Christianity and insulted the honor of the Prophet ﷺ.

He launched the first regular campaign against Zabih village and also started the movement to convert Muslims into Hindus. Therefore, the new religion of India “Hindutva” The founder can be attributed to Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

The first religious and political organization established by extremist Hindus for the promotion and development of their ideas was called “Arya Samaj”. Its founder was Dayananda Saraswati. Its basic strategy was this. It was that Hinduism should be made popular by causing riots between idolaters and Muslims.

Other extremist groups afterward emerged using the same tactic, including the Hindu Maha Sabha, RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and Shiv Seena. earned fame.

The majority of India’s idolaters, however, became fans of Brahmin and Kshatriya leaders who were moderate like Raja Rammohan Roy and Swami Vivekananda.

Among these leaders, Pandit Nehru, Motilal Nehru, Gopal Krishna Ghokle, Gandhiji, Sarojini Naidu, and Surendranath Banerjee stand out.

He was one of the founders of the All India Congress. These same leaders led the freedom movement and India became India. In 1948, extremist Hindus killed Gandhiji.

The Spread of Hinduism Began

When the push to replace the Babri Masjid with a Ram temple was launched in 1984, radical Hindu leaders were given fresh vitality. This policy proved to be revolutionary. It mobilized a large number of ordinary idolaters against the Muslims under their Hindutva banner. Thus, the process of spreading Hindutva ideas across India began.

INDIA'S New Religion: HINDUTVA And Its Aspects

By 1984, extremist Hindu leaders had formed their new political party, the BJP. With its help, Hindutva ideologies were spread rapidly among the establishment (army, politicians, bureaucrats, judiciary, and media). It was believed that by adopting Hinduism, India can become a superpower like in the past and their gods and goddesses will have a high voice in the world.

In the beginning, idolatrous moderates and secular personalities wanted to stop the spread of Hindutva. Therefore, in the first period of the BJP government (1998 to 2004), extremist Hindus could not take many desirable actions.

For example, eliminating Islamic history from textbooks, naming places after deities or heroes, banning slaughterhouses, etc.

The corruption of the leaders of the Hindutva religion led to a new life. Also, in the form of Narendra Modi, he found a staunch Shudra who was ready to take any step for the growth and development of Hindutva. His anti-Muslim sentiment was also instrumental in getting him an important position in the Sangh Parivar (a group of extremist parties).

The Eyes of Extremists Across India

The blatant promotion of Hinduism started when Narendra Modi was appointed prime minister of India in 2014. According to the plan, Muslims and Christians were targeted to spread the new religion throughout India.

For example, in the state of South-East India, Pagans and Muslims lived in an atmosphere of tolerance and peace in Karnataka for centuries. There the Shudras, Untouchables, and tribals were united against the Muslims by starting a movement against the burka and now they have become the propagandists of Hindutva.

INDIA'S New Religion: HINDUTVA And Its Aspects

The activities against Muslims in the state have increased many times. The proof is that the judiciary is the guardian of justice and law in any country.

In India, the courts are freeing the criminal Hindus who are the killers of hundreds of Muslims by massacring justice and law. Indian generals are also becoming more belligerent and threatening Pakistan day by day. The leaders of Hindutva are now desperately trying to spread their religion in the states of East, Central, and South India by creating a traditional strategy of “Hindu-Muslim riots”.

In West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and others that are not run by the BJP, Hindu-Muslim riots have increased considerably over the past few years.

The leaders of the Hindutva movement are aiming to recruit as many Shudras (Backward Castes), Dalits (Scheduled Castes), and Tribals (Scheduled Tribes) as possible into their ranks because they make up 70% of India’s Non-Muslim population. The circumstance is quite worrying for Indian Muslims, particularly those who live in the Hindutva strongholds.
